Day 34 - Funding with trafficvance

I funded my Trafficvance account yesterday and got approved immediately, did a double quick copying of my one and only profitable converting campaign from 50onred. Total of 3 campaigns running on trafficvance now.

This is my 3rd traffic source sign up from Media traffic x 2, 50onred x 2 and Trafficvance now. Let see how this traffic yields my ROI. Did I mention that I have received $50 credits for spending $500 on 50onred within a month?

While playing back some of my sound clips, I remember Nic was saying that he was running losses for about $3-4K USD for a period of 3 months before he found his profitable campaign on baby diapers. Guess everyone will have to encounter this path or rather this is part of I.M journey.

With that in mind, those pioneers that have made it in the I.M arena has kept my morale up as I know that one day I will also reach a destination where I will be as comfortable as they are.

I spend an average of 8 - 10 hours doing Internet Marketing, what did I do?

Checking/Clearing emails (as usual)
Monitor tracking software (CPVLab) with traffic network/sources
Checking out offers on affiliate networks
Doing research on offers (takes about 2-3hours) per campaign
REPEAT

I make it a point to do at least 2-3 campaigns a day, I have created over 50 campaigns now, I think I am on scheduele. :P

Day 28 - The more you spend, the more you earn

As the days goes by, it is making more sense/cents now. Initially I do not understand the true and actual meaning behind those words. As I create more and more campaigns, the spendings get bigger and bigger. Conversation is slow but at least seeing SOME results gives great satisfaction.

From Day 18 till today, its a total revenue of $253.75 = 10 days.
Actual traffic spendings = USD $536

So assuming in a month's time my revenue MAY be anything from USD $800-$1k

So my friends, it's starting to make sense now as my campaigns starts showing results and my revenue is slowing climbing and my spendings on traffic is getting lesser as it converts. You can refer to my last few blog post to compare the results.

Day 26 - Fine Tuning

Today I 'force' myself to work harder to make sure I get the desired results I wanted! Here's what I did:

Send email to W4 to hold all my payment and requested for $2500 threshold!

So what that means is that even if I got payout of $2499.99 from W4, I will not get paid cause it did not meet my threshold. Sounds super crazy for a Day 26 guy in CPA marketing, as my P/L in CPVlab is only $114 to date. So if you do the maths:



$114/26days = $4.38 per day
$2500/4.38 = 570 days to achieve $2500 with my current progress!

Of course I am not going to work 570 days till I get paid! That's how I 'forced' myself to work even harder by fine tuning the following:

I go back to those  previous campaigns to carefully review the stats and budget used, to find out why there isn't any conversion. Those which didn't convert actually bust out my campaign budget with only 2-3 targets with (200-300 clicks) and the rest did not receive enough clicks to properly determine if the targets works.

Took me about 3hrs + to set 17 inactive and tune 28 active campaigns.
Set campaign to inactive if its not converting.
Adjust target budget.
Track targets and budget 'consume'. Guess what? Its all worth , cause I got another $28 conversion!

Day 25 - More conversations

I learnt something today, with approximately USD $600, I can bring a brand new domain from no alexa ranking to currently standing at 918570.



No matter how tired or busy I am, I make a point to do research and create at least 1-2 campaigns a day. I don't know if these results are acceptable but nevertheless I will continue to preserve and fine tune till there's results.

Day 23 - I need Coffee!

Doing 34 campaigns so far and working on my 35th today. I have sent yet another support ticket on my results and requesting for more tips and fine tuning.

I have done another top up of Media Traffic, and setup another account on 50 on red for $50 bonus credits, that is if I manage to spend $500 in traffic within 30 days.

Day 21 - Optimization

After spending $32.38 for 1 particular campaign, I may have entered into optimization phase after 3 conversions.


I got revenue of $7.25 x 3 = $21.75. When investment is $32.38 and I got back $21.75
ROI = (Gains – Cost)/Cost

21.75-32.38/32.38=(-32% ROI)


According to what I have learnt, I need to hit at least -50% ROI before moving into optimization phase. So 1 more conversion and I think I am all set to go.

Day 18 - Surprise!

Hi guys, good news to share ya! Waking up today, I logged in into my CPVLab and found out that I have achieve not 1 but 2 conversions from 2 different campaigns. Payout? $7.25 x 2.

Not a nice payout but at least I manged to break the egg ya? Have increase my budget for that 2 campaigns and will continue to do related offers.

Day 17 - My First Landing Page

So far I have no luck in any conversion, yes you heard it right. 0 conversion and already did 25 campaigns and spent about USD$450 on traffic.


I tried out my first simple landing page today and took me almost 2 hours to set up everything. Everything have its first and I think I am getting better with setting up CPVLab and campaigns as the days goes by.

Day 13 - My thoughts towards my campaigns

Today marks the 13th day of my CPA course. Here's a summary:
  1. What I did was never to judge if the offer is able to convert, just use at least $20 to test the offer and get as much data as possible.
  2. Use keyword planner on that offer page to get keywords and do short tail keywords on traffic to get data.
  3. For 1 particular offer like US Payday, the offer was $44. Tested it with $67.44 to generate 1,085 views/click. Wanted to go on but decided to proceed with the next similar campaign with $200 payout.
  4. So far I did Intext and Pops only. Wanted to try Landing pages but, if I do not even have a single conversion, how am I able to make LP works?
  5. I figure out there's no such thing as best timing to run a campaign as you still need to have your AM approval and the timing is not regular. I have 3 campaigns started but no approval for 2 days!
  6. Split testing - Well, from my point of view. If you do have any conversion, even split testing will not help at all. You can only see which A/B does better or generate more traffic.
  7. The 'best' campaign so far I have is FREESCORE! Generated 1506 clicks/views without realizing that I am actually throwing away money without knowing the 100 clicks rule of thumb beforehand.
  8. Travel campaign was stopped abruptly by my AM before I could even test it properly. That's the actual case study that we have learnt during my course.
  9. Shopping campaigns looks like its the right direction to me as everyone I know, shops online nowadays.
  10. On dating offers, well it looks attractive to me (not the lady) but the offer with tons of dates looks appealing to me as it will also appeal to others (I think). So its also part of my campaign as well.

Day 12

Just came back from the revision class and it was an interesting and fruitful trip. Lessons learnt from my campaigns today:

  1. Not all campaigns are worth doing especially those with <$4 payout.
  2. When intext do not give you enough traffic, use shorter keywords like 'TWO WORDS'.
  3. Pops must be done with URLs.
  4. Give away offers must be done on landing pages, apparently I have not come to this stage yet. But soon I will be a master of LP!
  5. Sometimes the sweet spot to traffic may not be necessary always be top bids. But 60-70% traffic is good enough for your campaigns.
  6. Do different offers on the same traffic network.
  7. Add more KW and URLs if your do not have sufficient data even 15 URLs and 150 KW>.
  8. Rule of thumb, 100 clicks> and not converting = STOP.
  9. Have learnt how to do split testing on 50 on red.
  10. Lastly, should your conversion drops during optimization or during scaling. You can always pause the campaign and run again at at later date.
I will use all these tips and fine tune my campaigns now. Although the time now is 1:10AM, I quickly took a freshen up bath and ready to kick start my next campaign now. Wish me luck!
