Digital vs Internet vs Emarketing Part 2/2

Emarketing definition

Emarketing can be considered to be equivalent to Internet marketing and Digital Marketing. Most in the industry would look at it this way. However, Emarketing is sometimes considered to have a broader scope than Internet marketing since it refers to digital media such as web, e-mail and wireless media, but also includes management of digital customer data and electronic customer relationship management systems (E-CRM systems).

The first part of the definition illustrates the range of access platforms and communications tools that form the online channels which e-marketers use to build and develop relationships with customers. The access platforms or hardware include PCs, mobile phones and interactive digital TV (IPTV) and these deliver content and enable interaction through different online communication tools such as organization web sites, portals, search engines, blogs , e-mail, instant messaging and text messaging. Some also include traditional voice telephone as part of digital marketing.

Technology that drives digital marketing - the business returns from gaining new customers and maintaining relationships with existing customers. It emphasizes how digital marketing does not occur in isolation, but is most effective when it is integrated with other communications channels such as phone, direct mail or face-to-face.

Online channels should also be used to support the whole buying process from pre-sale to sale to post-sale and further development of customer relationships. Customer communications and product distribution are supported by a combination of digital and traditional channels at different points in the buying cycle.

This summarize the approach to customer-centric emarketing. It shows how success online requires a planned approach to migrate existing customers to online channels and acquire new customers by selecting the appropriate mix of e-communications and traditional communications. Retention of online customers needs to be based on developing customer insight by researching their characteristics, behavior, what they value, what keeps them loyal and then delivering tailored, relevant web and e-mail communications.

Finally, knowledge about customers needs, characteristics, preferences and behaviours based on analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Specific insights can be used to inform marketing tactics directed at groups of customers with shared characteristics.

Digital vs Internet vs Emarketing Part 1/2

Digital Marketing vs Internet Marketing

Digital marketing definition another term similar to Emarketing. It's a term increasingly used by specialist digital marketing agencies and the new media trade publications. The Institute of Direct Marketing has also adopted the term to refer to its specialist professional qualifications.

How digital marketing needs to be closely aligned to broader marketing objectives, activities and involves much more than SEO and inbound marketing. Digital marketing involves:

Applying these technologies which form online channels to market, that's Web, e-mail, databases, plus mobile/wireless & digital TV. To achieve these objectives, It is needed to support marketing activities aimed at achieving profitable acquisition and retention of customers… within a multi-channel buying process and customer life cycle.

Through using these marketing tactics, it is important to recognize the strategic importance of digital technologies and developing a planned approach to reach and migrate customers to online services through e-communications and traditional communications. Retention is achieved through improving our customer knowledge (of their profiles, behavior, value and loyalty drivers), then delivering integrated, targeted communications and online services that match their individual needs"

Internet marketing definition
“Achieving marketing objectives through applying digital technologies.”

Using this succinct definition to helps remind us that it is the results delivered by technology that should determine investment in Internet marketing, not the adoption of the technology! To help make sure that digital marketing is aligned with growing a business we've developed the RACE marketing strategy framework on Smart Insights which shows how to achieve growth through emarketing in these 5 areas:
  • Plan
  • Reach
  • Act
  • Convert
  • Engage
These digital technologies include Internet media such as desktop and mobile web sites and e-mail as well as other digital media such as wireless or mobile and media for delivering digital Television such as cable and satellite.

In practice, Internet marketing will include the use of a company web site in conjunction with online promotional techniques such as search engine marketing, interactive advertising, e-mail marketing and partnership arrangements (affiliate marketing) with other web sites. Some businesses who "want to be top in Google", simply consider Internet marketing to simply equate to Search Engine Marketing, but while this is important this scope is too narrow to take full advantage of digital media.

What is the difference and does it matter?

Does the difference in scope between these terms matter? No! it doesn't really matter, but the scope of responsibility is important to make the most of managing the opportunities. So the scope of digital marketing activities does need to be agreed within a business and/or between a company and its agencies.

There are 6 main types of digital media communications channels which every business should consider as part of digital marketing. These can be facilitated through the desktop or mobile web. There are more details on the strategy in visual emarketing strategy guide.

These techniques are used to support objectives of acquiring new customers and providing services to existing customers that help develop the customer relationship. However, for Internet marketing to be successful there is still a necessity for integration of these techniques with traditional media such as print, TV and direct mail. This is multi-channel Emarketing.

Online strategies that tend to have the highest Return Of Investment (ROI) 2/2

Paid Advertising
Most business owners who have tried it will tell you that paid advertising offers a good ROI. However, there are a few considering factors that complicate paid advertising, making it difficult to pin down an objective conclusion about the strategy. For example, the price per click on a Google search ad can vary wildly depending on what industry you're in, sometimes up to $50 or more per click. Plus, you're not "building equity" with a paid advertising campaign, no matter what platform you're on; it's more like paying rent. Once you cut funding to paid ads, they instantly turn off, and the only lasting value you get from it is the sales you made while the ads were active.

Content Marketing and SEO
Unlike with paid advertising, it's technically feasible to get started in content marketing and SEO with no monetary investment. However, if you want to scale your strategy to a meaningful level, it's going to take significant time and/or money. When you first start out, your results will leave you wanting more, but the true power of content marketing and SEO is their ability to scale exponentially over time; rather than giving you linear results, as with paid advertising, every new piece of content you produce will hold a lasting, semi-permanent value for your brand in terms of web real estate, referral traffic, and domain authority.

Social Media Marketing
Social media marketing is another area where it's technically feasible to pursue with only an estimate of time. Depending on the scale of your efforts, social media marketing could cost thousands of dollars per month. As for the value--that's trickier to measure than the results you'll get from SEO or direct advertising. You can measure engagements, traffic, and conversions, but it's hard to accurately quantify the reputation value your brand has generated. Plus, there's wide variation between industries when it comes to social effectiveness, and the price of paid social media ads.

Email Marketing
Email marketing has been described as the highest-ROI online marketing strategy, when implemented properly, with 67 percent of businesses listing it as their highest earner. Part of this is the low cost of creating a list and sending out emails; it won't cost you much in the way of time or money. There's also something of a growth factor, as the value of your email campaigns will increase with the size of your list. However, email marketing is dependent on a number of other interrelated strategies to be effective--and actually getting that email list built up in the first place, which can be very expensive.

Final Contender
Out of the significant online marketing channels I listed, it's tough to pick a clear winner, especially after acknowledging the considerations I outlined above. In the short-term, paid advertising can give you a strong return, and email marketing seems to work best for the majority of businesses once they have a strong email list built up. However, if I had to pick one "best" strategy when it comes to ROI, I'd choose content marketing and SEO--thanks to its multifaceted range of effects, permanent value, and potential for compounding returns, there's just no better way to spend your marketing budget (though ideally, you'll be pursuing all these strategies in one form of another).

Online strategies that tend to have the highest Return Of Investment (ROI) 1/2

ROI is somewhat tricky to nail down. Even with all the data in front of you, it's difficult to pin down a precise measure of ROI. This is partly due to the fact that many forms of "return" are imprecise, such as brand reputation, credibility, trust, and visibility.

Time and money are both investments. If ROI were a simple matter of "money in, money out," it'd be much easier to estimate and compare. However, some strategies require more of a time investment than a money investment, which adds another difficult-to-measure variable to the process.

Long-term ROI is different than short-term ROI. And one isn't objectively better than the other. Over the course of five years, a long-term investment will pay off far better than a short-term one, but sometimes you need results to start showing immediately.

Marketing strategies depend on execution. Let's say there's a marketing strategy that has a tremendously high average ROI, but you have no idea what you're doing; would you expect to see that high of a return in your campaign? The success of a marketing strategy depends on its execution.

Every business is different. Every industry, every demographic, and every individual brand has unique factors that affect how effective different marketing strategies will be. It's impossible to account for all these factors.

With those considerations out of the way, let's take a look at some of the most popular marketing strategies in my next post.

FREE Online Marketing Tips For Those On A Tight Budget. Part 3/3

This is the 3 part that I am sharing with regards to: FREE Online Marketing Tips For Those On A Tight Budget.

Reference from part 1 here.

Reference from part 2 here.

#Hashtag Campaign.

Nothing gets people excited like a hashtag campaign. Use a funny hashtag to get people talking about your subject on Twitter or Facebook. Remember to make the hashtag relate-able both to the target audience as well as to your brand. You could get the hashtag trending by collaborating with some influential players in the same niche as your target audience. You could also just promote the hashtag on Twitter by paying for it.

Similarly, you could also get the hashtag going on Instagram. But make sure you urge people to share their pictures by using the hashtag.

Blogging.

This is my favorite part! The more content on your site, the more opportunities there are for search engines to pick it up. Blogging can be a great (and free!) way to generate leads and links into your site. But don’t just be producing content to produce content. Write quality blog posts that will engage the readers. Guest blogging on more established blogs is another way to get more traffic to your own site.

Participate on Forums and Other Blogs.

Also you can visit other blogs, forums, and message boards frequently and leave informative comments and remarks. All of these give you the opportunity to provide a link to your website, which in turn helps with marketing your business. Participate often and become an active and respected member of sites you participate on.

The more you participate, the more you put your brand in front of prospective new customers.  Make sure the comments you leave are relevant and on target. Irrelevant comments made for the sake of leaving a link behind are often ignored or deleted or worse get you account banned.

What makes a good comment? Be sure to follow these quick tips:
  • Read the article, then read it again. You don’t want to miss something that was already said in the post or misinterpret the author’s point.
  • Be original. Take a once over of the comments already left and make sure your point adds to the conversation, or starts a whole new line of thought.
  • Get there early. Comments in the first 1-5 spots are more likely to be viewed by readers. To ensure you aren’t tardy to a new post, sign up for email alerts for your very favorite blogs!
There you have it, 3 parts of FREE Online Marketing Tips For Those On A Tight Budget, brought to you by Matt! :-)

FREE Online Marketing Tips For Those On A Tight Budget. Part 2/3

Continued from my last post..

Know your market.

Your marketing strategy will never be successful if you do not have a clearly defined audience. Before you even spend a cent on marketing, figure out who your target market first. There’s no need to pay top dollar to hire a fancy market research firm. If you know your product, you should be able to figure out your market yourself. For example, who will be most interested in your product? Men or women? What is their age group? What are your customer’s interests? What is their likely financial situation?

Once you have a thorough profile of your customer, determining how and where to reach them is much easier. This step may take awhile, and that’s OK. If you start marketing before you have a clear customer profile though, you will likely be wasting your dollars in places that will never reach your customer.

Search engine optimization (SEO).

When someone enters a search query into a search engine about something relevant to your company, obviously you want to be one of the first results displayed. So how do you make this happen? Essentially, you need to make your website more appealing to search engines. Do this by using keywords that are commonly searched, back-linking your site, customizing the headline and description, etc.

SEO can admittedly be a complicated and time consuming process, however the time needs to be spent here to ensure your website is getting found. Your best bet is usually going to be spending a bit more of your budget and hiring the right people to do the proper research. We always empathize the importance of not including keywords to simply rank your site, but using the terms your audience is looking for.

Social media.

Don’t just sign up for these services and then forget about them. Start being active on social media. All these sites should be used to promote your blog posts and communicate with customers. However, most people don’t follow companies on social media unless the company gives them a reason to. So, of course, give them a reason!

Stay tuned for my next post (part 3) that I will be covering and sharing with you soon!

FREE Online Marketing Tips For Those On A Tight Budget. Part 1/3

For those with a tight budget and have some form of difficulties to run your campaigns, I do have some tips to share with you!

Brand yourself.

Set yourself apart from the competition. There are thousands of companies trying to sell products on the Internet. Thus, you need to make your brand unforgettable. This begins with your website. Your domain name should be your company’s name if at all possible. If there are other companies online with names similar to yours, you may even want to consider changing your name to one that will not be easily confused with another product. Acquiring a domain name has a fee involved, but using a hosting service is very affordable even for the smallest budgets.

The way you want your brand to be viewed by customers is really up to you. But once you figure it out be consistent and stick with it. Having a professional website and a strong social media presence is important here, but you should also take the time to interact with potential customers and build relationships with them. The main cost involved in this step is just the man hours put into the process, which will drastically be reduced when you’ve established your brand.

Set and reset goals.

Determine what you are looking to gain from online marketing. Increased awareness? Increased revenue? You will probably have multiple goals, but keep track of what they are so you can measure your success. When you reach your initial goals, set new goals so your company can continue to improve.

Set a budget.

Now that you know who your target market is and have set goals, plan your budget accordingly. The good thing about online marketing is that you can be successful even when on a tight budget. A lot of platforms are available at no charge. However, sticking solely with free forms of online marketing might not be the best strategy for your company. Carefully determine what outlets are most necessary for your product and be willing to spend some money to get results.

Stay tuned for the next two parts that I will be covering and sharing with you soon!

Is the glass half full or half empty?

The 'glass half-full/empty' quotes, especially the many interpretations below, offer insights and ideas as to the way that we see the world and life in different ways. Whether the glass is half-full or half-empty is not just about optimism and pessimism - it's about how different people relate to the world and to each other - in different jobs, roles, and situations - in different ways.

Perhaps even more interestingly 'the glass half-full/empty' illustrate how different people see the same situation in different ways. The point is that different people see one situation in different ways - is central to what we seek to learn and teach, in life and work, notably affecting for example:

  • relationships
  • mutual understanding
  • teams
  • cooperation
  • partnerships
  • motivation
  • conflict
  • empathy
  • selling
  • negotiating
  • leadership and much more

EmailCashPro Email Marketing Services

As many may have know that I am a member of this platform since 2007. Today I did a check on my account and notice that I have some earnings of $16.45. Is that a lot of money? Some may ask. Well on the internet, all this type of money adds up and you will be surprise when you sums up everything together.

The reason why I am posting this today is to share and highlight one thing. I always believe in this policy that in order to make money, you have to invest and or reinvest your money. Now what I am doing here is to resubmit an ad order through this platform. The ad will send to 1000 targeted audience at a price of $63.

Firstly the earnings that I have made, are from my affiliates which I have built last time. (473 of them). All we have to do is to read the emails and get paid. Really just as simple as that. So if you work out the sums right now. $63-$16.45=$46.55. I am actually paying $46.55 to deliver and get my traffic out to 1000 targeted audiences. (It's only a mere $0.046 per audience!) This is the point I am trying to put across  today.

For those whom are keen to be an affiliate of this platform and earn some pocket money. You can sign up at http://www.emailcashpro.com/?r=mattchua

Some of my previous post on this platform can be located by checking out the labels under "emailcashpro"

You got to love an eCommerce business

I mean, nothing beats having your own business where no one's bossing you around, and you know you're building your own dream… starting from day one itself. At the same time, there are all kinds of eCommerce businesses out there - from selling handcraft to supplement products.

And if you are planning to start one, here are the 3 secrets to making it profitable:

1. The Product

The secret is to sell a "consumption-based" product instead of a one-time off product because if you just sell a one-time off product, you'll need to continue looking for new customers. And the most practical consumption-based eCommerce product is none other than wellness supplements

2. Build an Army of Affiliates

Look at the biggest eCommerce business in this world - how did Amazon build and grow its business so large and profitable? Well, it leverages on affiliates to promote their products.

Imagine this... what if... there are hundreds of other people promoting for you for free? Or even thousands? Even if you just get a small piece of the profit, it's BETTER than zero

http://34.gs/trnn

3. Sell a "Permanently Available" Product

I've heard horror stories of eCommerce marketers who need to close their eCommerce business because they are no longer able to acquire their flagship products to sell on their online stores. The truth is, it's actually easy to make some money online with an eCommerce business, but what's really important is this -- you want to build a solid business to create wealth for you, not making some measly dollars.

Online Marketing Trends That Will Dominate

Social Media Marketing Will Require More Diversity

Businesses were limited with regard to the social media networks they could implement into their marketing campaigns, with the biggies including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Now, it seems like new social media sites are appearing all the time. While some never really get off the ground, others like Pinterest, Google+, Tumblr and Instagram have surged in popularity and have provided businesses with a plethora of new options that allow them to produce engaging content in a variety of media forms and build their audiences across more channels than ever before.

Mobile-Friendly Content Will Be Necessary

Due to the widespread (and quickly growing) use of smartphones and tablets, it’s necessary for companies to create content that’s accessible to mobile users. According to Forbes, “87% of connected devices sales by 2017 will be tablets and smartphones.” Whether it’s creating an alternate mobile version of a website or utilizing responsive web design, it’s important to provide a positive experience to users that are browsing via a mobile device.

Ad Retargeting Will Grow in Effectiveness

This is a marketing strategy that has really caught on recently. In a nutshell, it works by utilizing browser cookies to track the websites that users visit. Once they leave a certain site, the products or services they viewed will be shown to them again in advertisements across different websites.

It’s fairly obvious as to why this technique can be so effective. With only two percent of web traffic converting on the first visit, ad retargeting works to increase the overall conversion rate by reminding consumers of the product or service they viewed. This keeps the brand and the product at the top of the consumer’s mind. There are even psychological studies that have shown that simple exposure to brand names and logos creates familiarity, which builds trust and makes consumers more likely to make a purchase.

Skills Every Internet Marketer Should Have

Internet marketing isn’t just one skill, but rather a whole suite of different skills that need to successfully work together. Those skills can vary depending on an IM’s niche or individual job description, but there’s always more than one skill involved in their work. While individual IMs might have different specialties, there are seven skills that every IM should have:

1) Basic HTML

While HTML is a technical skill and could fall into that category, it’s important enough to IMs that it deserves its own section. Good IMs have to know what the back end of a website looks like, and they have to know how different tags impact what’s on the page. If they don’t, they’re not only missing out — they’re behind the curve.

Not every IM has to be fluent in HTML, but it’s essential to know how to fix errors, add small elements, and modify existing pages without going back to the developer or designer for help. Knowing HTML just makes life easier on everyone, even if it’s only enough to make a few tweaks.

2) SEO

SEO plays a huge role in Internet marketing. If they’re going to successfully market a website, they need it to show up organically in search engine results pages. Otherwise, their company can be buried under the millions of other businesses online.

SEO is essential not only because of its potential in Internet marketing, but also because of what IMs can learn as they work. Ranking factors, search engine mechanics, and adapting to the constant stream of industry changes all lay the foundation for other Internet marketing skills — and they keep IMs on their toes, too.

3) Keyword research

Keyword research is a necessity for SEO and many other Internet marketing strategies. Essentially, keyword research tells IMs what popular industry terms are most useful for their companies — and their competitors — in search engines. Using these keywords on relevant site pages is a critical part of an SEO strategy, and it also lets page visitors know they’re in the right place to find a solution that works for them.

There are tons of keyword research platforms available to IMs — it really depends on circumstances to determine which one works the best. Google Adwords keyword planner is the gold standard, but searching for keyword planners provides a huge list of alternatives. IMs just need to create a l ist of keywords that they want to check, add them into the tool of their choice, and strategize based on the results.

4) Copy writing

Copy writing covers a huge portion of what IMs do every day. Whether they’re typing up new blog posts, creating landing pages, or emailing potential customers, they need to know how to write well. Just like any other skill, it takes practice, and IMs can refine their copy writing process over time by just sitting down at their computer and writing out their ideas.

5) Analytics

It is critical to IMs because they need data to better refine their processes. Creating ideas from scratch can work great when IMs are making something new — but turning those ideas into something great takes time, tracking, and analysis. IMs need to know as much about analytics as possible, not just how to work the programs, but also which metrics matter, how data can help set reasonable goals, and more.

Google Analytics provides a training resource for their platform that’s completely free. The seminars, videos, and user submissions round out their resources to provide a comprehensive beginner package that can help IMs grow their knowledge base.

Plus, once they finish, IMs can take the Google Analytics certification test. They just need to sign up to become a partner, fill out the needed information, and take the exam.
